Greater Ottawa Water Garden Horticultural Society

What good is the joy and love of the water gardening hobby if it can't be shared with others? In response to this gaping social, a group of Ottawa area water gardening enthusiasts have banded together to form the Greater Ottawa Water Garden Horticultural Society.

Founded in 2006, the Greater Ottawa Water Garden Horticultural Society (GOWGHS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the enjoyment, education and promotion of water gardening in the National Capital Region. They are a member of the Ontario Horticultural Association. Their goals are to encourage interest and improvement in water gardening and horticulture by:

• Exchanging water gardening knowledge and experience within their membership.
  
  
• Supplying information on water features, gardens, aquaculture, and seasonal maintenance.
  
  
• Hosting speakers on water gardening, horticulture and related topics.
  
  
• Promoting the protection of the environment.
  
  
• Promoting the therapeutic benefits of water gardening and horticulture.
  
  
• Stimulating an interest in the study of water gardening and horticulture.
  
  
• Providing channels (meetings, events, website) for water gardeners to meet and interact with others with similar interests.
